Gold Mine Thrift LLC strives to give our patrons a different kind of resale shopping experience, by creating a clean and organized space, and offering only the BEST gently used clothing and goods.
By nature we are environmentally conscious; taking in unwanted items and getting them into the hands of people who can get good use out of them. In addition, we recycle all metal, cardboard and electronics. Even clothing that is still wearable, but doesn’t meet our strict standards, is donated to a company that ships it to developing countries in need. We appreciate donations, and make sure they don’t end up in the landfill whenever possible!
Gold Mine Thrift opened in 2012 through the vision and hard work of the original owner, Jessica Guyant, who realized how much gets thrown out in our town, and saw opportunity to create a place to make it available. She envisioned the space as a way to help the community and support local charities. She believed in not letting perfectly good stuff go to waste, and understood the appeal of the ‘treasure hunt’- “you never know what you’ll find!”
Wendy Kunz, who purchased the shop in July 2018, shares those same values. She wants to continue to serve the local community and visitors of Summit County alike with quality vintage thrift and threads generated by donations of friends like you!
Wendy has a marketing background and an entrepreneurial spirit, taking on this new venture while husband Tim runs his own small business, Kunz Plumbing & Heating. She brings a neighborly atmosphere to the store and tries to help all patrons who stop by to ‘Dig Up a Deal’! She curates the collection in the shop with a discerning eye, focused on fashion and ski wear, decor, and select furniture pieces. She will keep you on your toes with frequent upgrades & changes to the main showroom, and an expanding selection of new items, including original artist works.
